RANGE: China , north-east Burma, central Thailand, Vietnam and south-west Cambodia.
HABITAT:They are mostly living between 1525m - 2745m altitude. They prefer broad areas of grassland that are bordered by forests,especially where these areas are rough and broken up by rock outcrops.

DISCRIPTION:They are very popular in the aviaries because of their fine looking and as they are hardy and it is easy to keep them in aviaries.
AVAIRY POSITION: Well planted 12m2 avairy.
FEEDING: Pellets, seeds, green food, live food.
BREEDING AGE:Second year but also it is possible to have fertile eggs in the first year.
BREEDING SEASON:March.
NUMBER OF EGGS IN A YEAR:7-20 eggs.
INCUBATION PERIOD:25-26 days.
