west, across northern India and Nepal through upper Burma. Some subspecies are found as
far south as Bangladesh. HABITAT:They are primarily forest dwelling birds with some occupying dense jungles. HISTORY: Gray 1829. DISCRIPTION: They are most common in kalij pheasants. They are hardy and easy to keep in avairys. It is better to keep them in pairs because sometimes there are some serious fights between the females. AVAIRY POSITION:Well planted 18 m2 avairy. FEEDING: Pellets, seeds, green food, live food. BREEDING AGE: First year. BREEDING SEASON: May to June. NUMBER OF EGGS IN A YEAR: 12-24 eggs. INCUBATION PERIOD: 25 days. |
