HABİTAT:Small ponds and rivers in wooded
country.
Visits freshwater marshes in the late summer and fall. In northern breeding areas
wood ducks are migratory.
GENERAL INFO: They are one
of the beatiful ducks of the world like mandarins. It is easy to breed them and they
are winter hardy. In their native habitat they use tree holes, they require always nest
boxes. the nest boxes should be 50 cm above the ground and a small ladder should
lead up to the entry hole so that birds with clipped wings can get to the
nest.
DESCRIPTION:Male 43-51cm.
AVAIRY POSITION:Well planted 12m2 avairy with a
pond.
FEEDING: Corn,
wheat, oats, rye, millet, milo , stale bread, potatoe, greens and pellet
feeds.
BREEDING AGE: First
year.

NUMBER OF EGGS IN A
YEAR: 10-13
eggs. If you collect the eggs they can lay more.
