Turkey and Iraq. East to south-east Uzbekistan and Tadzhikistan to Pakistan. HABITAT:Foothills of arid or semi-arid mountains and hills, or in semi-desert witin altitude of 100-2000 metres. HISTORY: J.F.Brandt 1843. SUB SPECIES: A.g.peraticus- West Afghanistan. DESCRIPTION:Male 230-270 mm. It is better to keep them in pairs. Easy to raise the youngs. They are too small and be careful about the waterers. Put some marbles in them like the button quail chicks. Live food and some small seeds will be helpful for breeding them. Male is different from the female with the black line over his eyes. AVAIRY POSITION:Sand based 2m' avairy. Put some plants for hiding and for nest. FEEDING:Chick crumbs, seeds, live food, green food. BREEDING AGE: First year. BREEDING SEASON: May to June. NUMBER OF EGGS IN A YEAR: 24-36 eggs. INCUBATION PERIOD : 23-24 days. |
