RANGE: Western Europe, from south and south western France to the north western tip of  Italy, Corsica, Gran Canaria Island.
HABITAT:Scrub in lowlands, hills, dry meadows, heathland and cultivated areas.

A.r.hispanica    A.r.intercedens	- North and West Iberian Peninsula. - East and South Spain.

DESCRIPTION:Male 340-380 mm. Female slightly smaller than male, duller head and throat and no tarsal spur.		PHOTO GALLERY

FEEDING: Seeds, green food, live food and chick crumbs.
BREEDING AGE: First year.
BREEDING SEASON: April to June.
NUMBER OF EGGS IN A YEAR: 24-36 eggs.
